Apple Vision Pro 2025 Update to Feature M4 Chip, Improved Strap – Major Redesign Coming in 2027

Apple is reportedly prepping a mild refresh of its Vision Pro headset, and it could arrive as early as late 2025. While it won’t be a full redesign, the update brings notable enhancements aimed at performance and comfort—two of the biggest pain points in the original model.
M4 Chip & Upgraded Neural Engine

The upcoming Vision Pro update will ditch the M2 chip in favor of Apple’s latest M4 chipset, delivering faster performance and more Neural Engine cores for advanced AI and spatial computing capabilities. This should help apps run smoother and potentially enable more immersive AR/VR experiences.

 Better Strap = Less Pain

One of the key changes is a redesigned strap, which reportedly reduces neck strain and head pressure—a common complaint among early adopters. While the device’s actual weight isn’t decreasing yet, this change should make the Vision Pro more comfortable for longer sessions.

Full Redesign Coming in 2027

Apple is saving the major revamp for 2027, when a significantly lighter Vision Pro will launch. Until then, this 2025 refresh serves as a stopgap to keep Apple competitive in the mixed reality space.
Vision Pro Sales Still Lagging

Despite the hype, Apple has only sold a few hundred thousand Vision Pro units, far below expectations for what was billed as the “future of computing.” High pricing and comfort issues have slowed adoption—but this update could give it a much-needed boost.

Stay tuned for more details as Apple finalizes this iterative yet important update to its AR/VR ecosystem.
