Honor Magic V5 Launches as World’s Thinnest Foldable with Snapdragon 8 Elite, 6,100mAh Battery & Triple 50MP Cameras
The Honor Magic V5 is now official, and it's making headlines as the thinnest foldable smartphone to date. Honor skipped the "V4" naming, but it certainly didn’t skip on upgrades — this is a significant leap from last year’s Magic V3.
Sleeker and Lighter Than Ever
At just 8.8mm folded and 4.1–4.2mm unfolded, the Magic V5 is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor. The Ivory White version is the thinnest and weighs only 217g, while Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown weigh 222g. This refined design also features a flatter frame for a more comfortable grip.
Boosted Durability with IP58 & IP59 Ratings
Unlike the V3’s IPX8 rating, the Magic V5 gets upgraded IP58 and IP59 certification, adding dust resistance to its already capable water protection.
Bigger Battery, Same Fast Charging
The battery sees a 12% increase — now 6,100mAh (China) or 5,820mAh (global), using cutting-edge silicon-carbon tech. You still get 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Immersive Dual Displays
Cover Display: 6.43" 2376x1060px LTPO OLED, 120Hz, 5,000 nits
Main Display: 7.95" 2352x2172px LTPO OLED, 120Hz, 5,000 nits
Honor uses its NanoCrystal Shield on the cover display and a Super Armored Inner Screen for the folding panel — built for durability.
Triple Camera Upgrade
50MP f/1.6 main camera
50MP f/2.0 ultrawide (up from 40MP)
64MP 3x telephoto (70mm f/2.5 with a larger sensor)
Performance and Variants
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with configurations of:
12GB + 256GB – CNY 8,999 (~$1,255/€1,070/₹107,500)
16GB + 512GB – CNY 9,999 (~$1,400/€1,186/₹119,500)
16GB + 1TB – CNY 10,999 (~$1,535/€1,300/₹131,400)
Final Thoughts
With its class-leading design, upgraded cameras, powerful chipset, and massive battery, the Honor Magic V5 sets a new standard for foldable flagships in 2025.
