Samsung Galaxy S26 Series to Skip “Plus” Model in 2025, Lineup to Feature Only S26, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra

In a significant shakeup to its flagship smartphone lineup, Samsung is reportedly dropping the Galaxy S26+ model in 2025. According to a new report from South Korea, next year’s Galaxy S26 series will consist of just three devices: the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Series: What to Expect

Galaxy S26 – 6.27-inch display

Galaxy S26 Edge – 6.66-inch display

Galaxy S26 Ultra – 6.89-inch display

Notably absent is the S26+, which many assume is being phased out due to poor sales performance, similar to what Apple is rumored to be doing with the iPhone 17 Air, replacing the iPhone Plus model.

Why Samsung Is Ditching the Plus Model

The Galaxy S25 Edge, launched in May 2025, already mirrored the screen size of the S25+ but came with a thinner body, fewer cameras, and a smaller battery. It appears Samsung is now streamlining its lineup to improve production efficiency and increase the average selling price (ASP). The Edge model is slightly more expensive than the Plus and likely more profitable.

However, this move might alienate fans of the Plus line. Those who prefer a large screen without going Ultra now face a choice between:

The Edge, which has a similar display but reduced battery and camera hardware

The Ultra, which adds features but also increases size, weight, and cost

As Samsung prepares the S26 lineup, all eyes are on how the market will react to the elimination of the Plus tier and whether the Edge can fill its shoes—or fall short.
