Leadership Demands Loyalty to the Party’s Vision, Not Individuals
Dear Theo Abu Agada,
Your speech at the ADC gathering this afternoon raised important concerns about the responsibilities attached to the office you currently hold. Publicly declaring that your loyalty is exclusively to Senator Dickson and to no one else has understandably generated questions about your commitment to advancing and defending the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
During your remarks, it also appeared that you sought direction from Emma Ikumeh before proceeding with your speech. Given the political sensitivities involved and the public positions often associated with key stakeholders, such moments can create perceptions that may not reflect well on the party’s leadership structure.
As a senior party official, your role requires clear communication, confidence, and unwavering commitment to the party’s collective vision. Loyalty to a political party extends beyond individual relationships; it must encompass support for the party’s ideals, leadership, and candidates.
Your recent comments have created doubts among supporters regarding where your primary allegiance lies. In a position of strategic importance, such uncertainty can be damaging to party unity and public confidence.
This is not intended as a personal attack but as constructive criticism rooted in the expectations of leadership. If you believe you cannot fully align with and support the party’s presidential candidate and agenda, then it may be appropriate to reconsider your position in the interest of the party.
Thank you.
MAZI CHIEMENA SAMUEL
