Nigerian Trio Arrested in The Gambia Over Alleged D2 Million Fraud, Cash Recovered

Three Nigerian nationals have been arrested by police in The Gambia over their alleged involvement in a fraud case involving Two Million Dalasis (D2,000,000).
The suspects, identified as Stanley Edward, 35, and Fidelis Ibe, 41, both residents of Kololi, alongside David Chiagozie, 47, of Brusubi, were apprehended by officers attached to Serekunda Police Station on June 16, 2026.

According to the Gambia Police Force, the arrests were carried out following credible intelligence that linked the trio to the alleged scam.

During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered a total of Two Million Two Hundred and Seventy-Two Thousand Dalasis (D2,272,000) believed to be connected to the case.

The suspects have since been charged with theft, while police continue investigations to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the alleged fraud.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to tackling criminal activities and protecting members of the public from fraudulent schemes and financial crimes.
