The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday that it has eliminated several senior Hamas operatives in a series of targeted airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, including commanders from the elite Nukhba Force who were allegedly involved in the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on southern Israel.

According to the Israeli military, the latest operation targeted Mohammed Emad Alrahman Abu Taima, a Hamas Nukhba cell commander who allegedly infiltrated Kibbutz Nirim during the October 7 attack.

IDF Says Nukhba Commander Posed Immediate Threat

The IDF stated that Abu Taima led a Nukhba unit responsible for organizing ambushes against Israeli forces throughout the conflict. Military officials also alleged that he played a key role in rebuilding Hamas's operational capabilities by recruiting fighters and maintaining combat readiness in recent months.

Israel said the strike was carried out using precision-guided munitions after intelligence indicated that Abu Taima posed an immediate threat to Israeli troops operating in southern Gaza.

Another Hamas Commander Killed in Northern Gaza

The military also confirmed the death of Ahmad Yahya Ibrahim Batsh, another Nukhba Force cell commander, in an airstrike conducted in northern Gaza on Sunday.

According to the IDF, Batsh participated in the October 7 attack and continued directing attacks against Israeli soldiers during the ongoing conflict.

Hamas Intelligence Commander Also Eliminated

In a separate strike carried out on Monday in southern Gaza, Israeli forces said they killed Hamouda Abu Daqa, whom the military identified as a commander within Hamas's intelligence unit.

Israeli officials alleged that Abu Daqa gathered intelligence on IDF troop movements and coordinated attacks against Israeli soldiers. The military described him as an immediate operational threat.

Training Commander Behind Nukhba Operations Killed

Earlier this week, the IDF announced another major operation that resulted in the death of Fadi Falah Ashour Daghmash, a commander in Hamas's military training department.

According to Israel, Daghmash supervised multiple training programs for Hamas fighters, including members of the elite Nukhba Force before the October 7 attack. The military also accused him of directing attacks against Israeli ground forces and helping rebuild Hamas's military infrastructure in recent months.

Terror Infrastructure Targeted in Northern Gaza

The Israeli military further disclosed that it struck five Hamas operatives in northern Gaza after they allegedly attempted to restore underground terrorist infrastructure near the ceasefire line.

The IDF identified one of those killed as Hudhayfah Hussein Abdullah al-Hawajri, a Nukhba operative from Hamas's East Jabalia Battalion. The military said the remaining four militants were also hit during the strike.

Additional Hamas Commanders Killed

On Sunday, Israel also announced the deaths of Muhammad Najib Ashour, identified as a Nukhba Force platoon commander, and Tamer Saeed Abu Nakhal, described as a Hamas military wing cell commander.

The Israeli military alleged both men were actively planning attacks against Israeli soldiers before they were killed in separate precision strikes.

IDF Says Operations Will Continue

The Israeli military said all strikes were conducted after taking measures intended to reduce civilian casualties, including aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering and the use of precision-guided weapons.

Israel added that its forces remain deployed inside parts of the Gaza Strip under the current U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement and will continue conducting operations against what it describes as immediate security threats.

The latest operations come as tensions remain high despite the ceasefire, with Israeli forces continuing targeted missions against Hamas operatives whom the military accuses of rebuilding the group's military capabilities.

As the conflict enters another critical phase, Israeli officials maintain that counterterror operations will continue to prevent future attacks while security forces remain on high alert across the region.
