Whatsapp email verification feature have been added in the latest update version.
In the most recent update, accessible via the Google Play Beta Program as version 2.23.18.19, a feature is being developed to verify users’ email addresses. While this features had been noticed earlier, details were limited due to its developmental stage.
WhatsApp’s Focus on Enhanced Security
According to WABetaInfo, a screenshot from this beta version reveals a developing email verification screen. While the exact functioning is unclear, it’s speculated that the feature might offer users an additional method to access their WhatsApp accounts by confirming their email.
The feature’s use could be vast. If you can’t log in because of SMS issues, or if you lose your phone or SIM card, or if you’re in a region where SMS isn’t dependable, this email verification can help. However, it’s optional. If users already use their Google account for chat backups or have two-step verification, their email might be auto-verified. Importantly, for privacy reasons, your email address won’t be shown to your WhatsApp contacts.
The email verification feature, which has been in development within the beta phase, is expected to roll out as a stable update in the future. Alongside this, WhatsApp is actively working on other improvements, such as hiding IP addresses during calls, Introducing original quality photo and videos sharing, and enhancing the calling interface in its lastest beta update.
