MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Tipped for Early Launch with Powerful Travis X930 Core and 100 TOPS NPU
MediaTek is gearing up to launch its next-generation flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9500, ahead of schedule — possibly by early to mid-September — in a bid to get a head start on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
The SoC has now surfaced on Geekbench, revealing some key specs that align with earlier leaks. The Dimensity 9500 will feature an octa-core architecture built around:
1x Travis X930 prime core clocked at 3.23 GHz
3x Alto performance cores running at 3.03 GHz
4x Gelas efficiency cores ticking at 2.23 GHz
On the graphics side, MediaTek has equipped the chipset with a Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU, clocked at 1000 MHz. This contradicts earlier rumors pointing to an Immortalis-Drage GPU, but it’s possible that MediaTek is still testing different GPU configurations.
Another highlight is the next-gen NPU, which is expected to deliver 100 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) — a significant jump over the current generation, putting it in direct competition with Qualcomm’s latest AI push.
With Geekbench scores out and more benchmark listings likely to follow in the coming weeks, the Dimensity 9500 is shaping up to be a powerful rival in the Android flagship space.
Stay tuned for more updates as the launch window approaches.
