Subaru Uncharted Unveiled: Compact Electric Crossover with AWD Power and Tesla Charging Compatibility

Subaru is taking a bold step forward in its EV strategy with the official debut of the Subaru Uncharted, a brand-new compact electric crossover. Positioned just below the Subaru Solterra, the Uncharted offers a more affordable, nimble alternative while still packing serious performance and electric range.
Built on the e-TNGA platform it shares with the Toyota C-HR EV, the Subaru Uncharted stands out with rugged styling, advanced AWD capability, and features tailored for adventurous driving. It will be available in both FWD and AWD configurations, marking a rare return to front-wheel drive for the brand.

Two Distinct Powertrains

Uncharted Premium FWD: A single motor delivers 221 horsepower with a standout range of over 483 km (300 miles), making it the longest-range variant. However, Subaru notes this version will be available in limited quantities.
Uncharted AWD Sport and GT: These trims feature dual motors with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, producing 338 horsepower. That’s enough to launch from 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in just 5.0 seconds—faster than a previous-gen WRX STI.

Shared Battery, Different Performance

All variants use a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery. While the AWD versions sacrifice a bit of range (estimated 467 km / 290 miles) for performance and traction, they include Subaru’s X-Mode system for better off-road and slippery surface handling.

Tesla Charging Compatibility

Subaru is future-proofing the Uncharted by including a NACS (Tesla) charging port for the U.S. market. It supports 150 kW DC fast charging, recharging from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes, and also offers 11 kW AC charging for home setups. A battery preconditioning system ensures optimal charging even in cold weather.
Rugged Yet Modern Design

Despite its Toyota underpinnings, the Uncharted features unique Subaru styling:

Rugged bumpers and aggressive lighting

Standard roof rails

Optional 18- or 20-inch wheels

Interior dominated by a 14-inch touchscreen and digital gauge cluster

Trim Levels and Features
Sport Trim: Water-resistant upholstery, heated steering wheel, and panoramic view monitor

GT Trim: Adds ventilated seats, panoramic moonroof, Harman Kardon audio, and smart rearview mirror

Subaru hasn’t released official pricing yet, but it's expected to be competitive with Toyota’s C-HR EV, making the Uncharted an attractive choice for those seeking a versatile, efficient, and adventurous compact electric crossover.
With strong range, Subaru DNA, and Tesla charging support, the Subaru Uncharted is shaping up to be a serious contender in the growing EV crossover market.
